She committed suicide by hanging herself; she was discovered by her boyfriend in the bathroom, with a towel wrapped around her neck. While no apparent suicide note was left behind, an entry in her on-line blog shortly before her death indicated she was suffering from depression. Jung Da Bin's last diary entry read:
“Everything is so complicated. I get angry for no reason and I feel like I’m going crazy. It hurts so much that I feel like I’m getting sea sick. My head hurts so much that I start to tear. I was becoming a slave of my temper. I thought that I was losing myself, losing my identity… Then at that moment, as if I was getting an electric shock, I found peace. God came to me with love. He made me realize my importance and gave me courage. He lifted me up and he said it’s going to be okay. I’m okay”

On the night of February 22, 2005, only a few days after her graduation from Dankook University, Lee Eun Ju committed suicide at her apartment in Bundang, Seongnam. She was 24 years old. She slit her wrists and hung herself. The family blamed the suicide on severe bouts of depression and mental illness, and said she had been suffering from insomnia due to the nude scenes she had done in The Scarlet Letter.
She left a suicide note scrawled in blood, in which she wrote, "Mom, I am sorry and I love you." A separate note said, "I wanted to do too much. Even though I live, I'm not really alive. According to South Korean reports, Jang claimed that her agent Kim Sung-hoon had regularly beaten her and forced her to have sex with a string of VIPs, including directors, media executives and CEOs.
The former manager of Jang's management agency, Kim Sung-hoon, was arrested in Tokyo in June 2009 for overstaying his visa. Korean police requested Kim's extradition on a warrant related to Jang's death. Kim at the time of his arrest stated that he "committed a crime in South Korea and overstayed in Japan to avoid being arrested." Later, prosecutor allowed Kim to bail.

Choi's family members initially objected to the Korean police administration's decision that an autopsy was required. Her body was ultimately released. An autopsy was conducted at Kangnam St. Mary's Hospital that night on October 2 ,2008. "Taking the evidence and testimony into consideration, we believe she apparently committed suicide," a chief investigator said.

Kim was discovered hanged in her apartment in Paris on 19 November 2009 at the age of 20. The Paris prosecutor's office ruled her death as a probable suicide. Kim had suffered from depression and frustration for a long time, and had voiced her frustrations in her own weblog and in her paintings. As far back as 2007 she had left often violent posts of self angst related to self-mutilation and suicide and, exhausted in April 2007, had posted “I am going to smash my face… My life as daul was so miserable and lonely.
